On October 11, 2016 a team of nine climate activists carried out a plan to disrupt the entire flow of tar sands oil from Canada into the US. In solidarity with Standing Rock, they used pipeline emergency valves in four states to stop the flow of 2.8 million barrels of oil — approximately 15% of US daily consumption.
Michael Foster is doing time in a North Dakota prison for that action, and he could use some letters of support and solidarity.

It is important to support those imprisoned for their actions to make a better world. Let’s come together, eat some pizza (including vegan and gluten-free) and support Michael Foster who risked arrest for the sake of our planet. He is in there for us, so let’s be out here for him! The Valve Turner who took action in Montana, Leonard Higgins, will be our special guest and share stories and videos of the Valve Turners’ organizing, actions and legal proceedings. Serra Joy will talk about how to write letters to prisoners.

The Neighborhood Anarchist Collective organizes locally to help neighbors support one another to meet their basic needs, build empowered communities and collectively shape the future.
