ICE subpoenaed Meta, seeking records related to activist Facebook and Instagram accounts. Late in the day on October 1, the U.S. District Court for Northern California issued a stay barring Meta from disclosing the requested activist data to ICE, until a full hearing on constitutional and other legal issues can be heard by the Court.
