At Civil Liberties Defense Center, we’ve witnessed this courage firsthand – from Standing Rock water protectors in North Dakota, to Stop Copy City forest defenders in Atlanta, and pipeline resisters in the Pacific Northwest (and nationwide).

CLDC will forever advocate for Tribal sovereignty, and supports the work of many Tribes, Indigenous peoples, communities and groups. As we live and work on stolen land, it is our duty to protect what takes care of us while we are here. We’ve got your back, until all are free!

Check out these events taking place across the PNW to show your support of Tribal justice and Indigenous resistance!

EUGENE

UO Museum of Natural & Cultural History | Monday, Oct 13, 10am-5pm | 1680 E 15th Ave | FREE admission featuring “Transgressors” exhibit and 14,000 years of Native Oregon culture | More info

HUMBOLDT COUNTY

Indigenous Foods Festival | Saturday, Oct 11, 10am-3pm | Wiyot Plaza, Cal Poly Humboldt (Arcata, CA) | FREE | Features food sovereignty, traditional foods, workshops, speakers, and Indigenous vendors | More info

PORTLAND

Indigenous Peoples Day Weekend Marketplace | Sat-Sun, Oct 11-12, 10am-4pm | Oregon Convention Center | 50-100 Indigenous and Black artists, live performances, and cultural celebration | More info

SALEM

Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration | Monday, Oct 13, 1-6pm | Riverfront Park (Gerry Frank Amphitheater) | FREE | Hosted by Indigenous Now with speakers, dancers, children’s activities, and vendors

CORVALLIS

OSU Indigenous Peoples Day | Monday, Oct 13, 4-9pm | PRAx, 470 SW 15th St | FREE | Panel discussions, proclamation signing, and cultural performances | More info

BELLINGHAM/LUMMI NATION

Lummi Nation School Celebration | Monday, Oct 13 | Theme: “nilh tu o: Weaving the Past, Present and Future” | Community gathering with traditional performances

Village Books Event with Rena Priest | Friday, Oct 10, 6pm | Village Books, Bellingham | Indigenous Peoples Day Primer with Lummi poet and former WA State Poet Laureate

SEATTLE

United Indians Indigenous Peoples Day | Evening celebration at Daybreak Star Center | Art exhibition, dinner, round dance & jam session | More info

Indigenous Peoples Day Wellness Event | Monday, Oct 13, 12-4pm | Tidelands, 55 University St.

*You may support our clients by donating to CLDC’s Activist Defense Fund at cldc.wagonwheelweb.com/donate

Mní Wičóni – Water is Life. #LandBack.
